Job Title: Head of Engineering-Application Development

GradGuard is seeking an experienced Head of Engineering-Application Development to lead our talented team of engineers. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of innovative software solutions.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading engineering teams, as well as knowledge and experience with PHP, SQL, JavaScript, and AWS. You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing a team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define technical strategies and roadmaps.
  • Overseeing the design, development, and deployment of software applications.
  • Ensuring the team adheres to best practices and coding standards.
  • Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to improve code quality.
  • Managing and allocating resources effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Identifying and addressing technical challenges and bottlenecks in a proactive manner.
  • Fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
  • Staying updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, managing and leading engineering teams.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in PHP, SQL, JavaScript, and AWS.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in software development life cycle management.
  • Familiarity with Data Intelligence practices and tools is a plus.
