About the Role

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a skilled Newborn Hearing Screen Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the early detection and intervention of hearing loss in newborns.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct Newborn Hearing Screens: Perform high-quality hearing screenings on newborns in a hospital setting, using specialized equipment and techniques.
  • Verify Insurance Information: Accurately verify insurance information with parents/guardians to ensure timely billing and reimbursement.
  • Document Hearing Screen Results: Maintain accurate and detailed records of hearing screen results, including any necessary follow-up actions.
  • Follow Protocol for Timely Submission of Billing: Ensure that all billing and reimbursement processes are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Follow Protocol Related to Security and Identification of Infants: Adhere to strict protocols to ensure the security and identification of infants during the screening process.
  • Follow Infection Control, Safety Awareness, and Other Hospital, Company, and Program Policies: Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Recognize Potential Problems and Obtain Assistance When Necessary: Identify and address any potential issues or concerns that may arise during the screening process.
  • Complete Company and Hospital Orientation or Classes: Participate in all required training and orientation programs to ensure a thorough understanding of company and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Complete and Maintain Employee Health Requirements: Meet all necessary health and wellness requirements to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure the smooth operation of the healthcare team.
Qualifications
  • Experience Working with Infants: Previous experience working with infants is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in a Hospital Setting: Experience in a hospital setting is preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with parents, healthcare professionals, and other team members.
  • Computer Proficiency and Ability to Perform Accurate Data Entry: Demonstrate proficiency in computer software and hardware, with the ability to accurately and efficiently enter data.
  • Ability to Prioritize Daily Tasks and Assignments: Possess the ability to prioritize tasks and assignments to ensure timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Ability to Work Both Independently and as Part of a Team: Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Flexibility to Work on Weekends and National Holidays: Be available to work on weekends and national holidays as required.
  • Ability to Frequently Lift and/or Move Up to 25 Pounds and Occasionally Lift and/or Move Up to 50 Pounds: Possess the physical ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
