Position Overview:

As a Senior Camp Leader at Keene Young Mens, you will have the opportunity to spend your summer in a vibrant outdoor environment, engaging with children in grades 1-5. This role involves overseeing a group of campers and providing guidance to Assistant Counselors, ensuring a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for all participants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead dynamic, enjoyable, and culturally sensitive camp activities and excursions.
  • Provide direct supervision and instruction to campers in line with established protocols.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of lesson plans.
  • Foster meaningful connections with campers, families, and fellow staff, demonstrating a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and standards while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Passion for working with school-aged children.
  • Strong behavioral management skills.
  • Ability to adapt and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Preferred experience in outdoor education, arts, sports, or similar fields.
  • Completion of CPR/First Aid/AED Certification and Child Abuse Prevention training prior to the start of the camp.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working with youth.
  • A degree in education, recreation, psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certification or extensive training in diversity, equity, and inclusion is advantageous.
