Job Overview
At the Keene Family YMCA, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Member Services Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Welcome Center team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional member services and promoting a culture of inclusivity and belonging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized support to members, participants, and guests, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience at the YMCA.
  • Assist with membership recruitment and retention activities, promoting the diversity and inclusivity of our community.
  • Support the Membership Director in ensuring the Welcome Center staff are competent in using Daxko, Nationwide, and other systems.
  • Work collaboratively with the Membership Director to maintain high member satisfaction, as reflected in retention rates and member surveys.
  • Develop and implement member engagement strategies to foster a sense of belonging and community among members.
  • Uphold all YMCA policies, procedures, and codes of conduct, responding to membership events and incidents.
  • Process Membership For All (MFA) financial assistance applications, adhering to current policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the oversight and implementation of the Summer Camp registration process.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly transaction audits and reports to maintain data accuracy and perform necessary member communications.
  • Maintain a positive, enthusiastic, and professional image on the job.
  • Assist with maintenance, cleanliness, and orderliness of the Welcome Center desk.
  • Serve as lead department staff when the Membership Director is not present at the Welcome Center.
  • Regularly work 40 hours per week to support operations at the Welcome Center.
  • Participate in and assist the Membership Director with preparing for membership staff meetings.

Requirements
  • 4-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education.
  • High school diploma.
  • Strong customer service, communication, technology, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of confidence, patience, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population, diffuse confrontational situations, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • A willingness to commit to the mission of the YMCA.
  • Ability to serve as a positive role model to staff, program participants, parents, members, and guests.
  • Ability to perform duties with professionalism, enthusiasm, kindness, empathy, care, honesty, and respect.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • 5 or more years of experience using Microsoft Windows or a proven track record of technological dexterity, adaptability, and innovation.
