Job Summary

The Production Shift Lead is a critical role within the Manufacturing Operations team at Milo's Tea Company. This position is responsible for supporting the Production Team by working closely with the Production Supervisor to manage workflow and resources. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of safety and quality guidelines, and will be responsible for ensuring that all production activities are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Production Supervisor in managing workflow and resources
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality guidelines
  • Monitor and decision-making for schedule attainment
  • Coordinate break relief for team members and provide break relief when needed
  • Coordinate staffing requirements for each shift (PTO, call-ins, etc.)
  • Ensure proper paperwork/charting is available for associates on shift
  • Ensure all materials required for production are available for use
  • Work with other team leads and departments to coordinate production plan
  • Lead shift handover meetings to communicate company announcements and shift goals
  • Complete shift reports and communicate wins and opportunities to relevant business partners
  • Coach and mentor production team members
  • Ensure required paperwork is completed for pre and post shift activities
  • Communicate plant downtime issues when they arise with maintenance or other relevant departments
  • Ensure team members follow GMP/QA, sanitation, and procedures
  • Monitor quality and food safety control points and make corrective actions
  • Uphold and participate in all Corporate Responsibility programming
Requirements
  • Either a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and basic mathematical functions
  • Basic computer skills (email, Traksys, etc.)
  • Physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, or kneeling for 12 hours, lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, and specific vision abilities
Working Conditions

The Production Shift Lead will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment includes manufacturing noise.
