IT Project Coordinator

Contract Type: 6-month contract, with potential for extension based on performance evaluation.

Location: Remote with occasional onsite requirements.

The Project Coordinator will oversee the execution of various small to medium-sized technical initiatives, managing a portion of larger programs in alignment with contractual obligations and organizational policies.

This role will report to the IT Project Management Office (PMO) and will focus on supporting project activities rather than direct project management. Responsibilities include reporting, conducting health assessments, engaging with multiple delivery teams, and collaborating with the PMO team to ensure project timelines are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and guide support personnel in executing project tasks and responsibilities.
  • Oversee the technical aspects of projects through design, implementation, and testing phases to meet project goals.
  • Utilize project portfolio management tools to monitor project plans, identify issues, assess risks, and manage dependencies.
  • Generate status updates, lead status meetings, and facilitate resolution of issues and risk management discussions.
  • Create presentations and identify opportunities for process enhancements.

Required Skills

  • Proficient planning capabilities using industry-standard planning software (e.g., Clarity/CA PPM, Microsoft Project).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with both Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Adept at resolving complex technical challenges.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate a project team of technical experts.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Experience managing moderately complex projects.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with mid to senior-level management.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in IT project management, including planning and scheduling for medium-sized projects.
  • Experience in scheduling, planning, and managing across multiple small to medium-sized teams.
  • Experience working within a Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Proficient in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Skilled in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experienced in process facilitation.
  • Knowledgeable in Agile methodologies.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.

Preferred: PMI/Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
