Patient Access Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Access Associate to join our team at Jennie Stuart Health. As a Patient Access Associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient registration process for patients, while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities- Register patients for admissions, emergency, and outpatient services in a timely and accurate manner.
- Verify insurance coverage and explain financial obligations to patients.
- Collect patient payments and issue receipts.
- Pre-register scheduled patients and maintain accurate records.
- Answer incoming phone calls and provide assistance to patients, visitors, and staff.
- Maintain a positive and professional representation of the organization at all times.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field desired.
- At least 1-3 years of customer service, administrative, and/or data entry experience required.
- Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Mckesson and AccuReg.
- Medical terminology knowledge.
- ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS codes and coding processes knowledge.
- Strong understanding and comfort level with computer systems.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a high-volume setting. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
