Principal Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the testing process for individual test subjects, including planning, execution, and analysis of test data. You will also be responsible for developing and evaluating plans for solving complex testing challenges, and for providing technical communications for test engineering to project customers.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the testing process for individual test subjects, including planning, execution, and analysis of test data.
- Develop and evaluate plans for solving complex testing challenges.
- Provide technical communications for test engineering to project customers.
- Work with labor, test support, and engineering resources to actively manage the test from set up to completion.
- Maintain a proficiency in understanding chiller test data to guide the customer engineering teams as necessary to acceptance or assist in explanation of data results.
- BS required.
- A minimum combination of seven (7) years direct work experience in the following: HVAC/R equipment development, servicing or testing, with a good understanding of HVAC/R systems, concepts, and diagnostics.
- Desired background in engineering and development testing, with use of a variety of test instrumentation to perform test data acquisition and data analysis, test troubleshooting and diagnostics, technical reporting, and related communication at various levels.
- High level of product family competency.
- Recognized expert in one or more technical and operational disciplines within HVAC platform development.
- Able to work in fast-paced, schedule driven work environment.
- Possess the agility/adaptability to quickly move from one task to another when required.
