Laborer - Telecommunications Construction

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laborer to join our team in the telecommunications construction industry. As a Laborer, you will be responsible for completing general labor duties related to underground construction, including loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various construction materials and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform manual labor tasks, including digging, loading, and unloading materials and equipment
  • Operate heavy equipment and machinery, such as trucks, cars, backhoes, and trenchers
  • Install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling
  • Work in congested or remote areas, maintaining visual and audible contact with other crew members and moving or stationary objects
  • Perform general construction work under the direction of a Foreman/Supervisor
  • Maintain safe working habits and conditions, adhering to all regulations, procedures, and policies
Requirements
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be authorized to work in the United States for this company
  • Hold a valid standard Driver's License or Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • Have basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner
  • Have basic knowledge of and ability to use hand tools and equipment in a safe manner
  • Have experience in the utility construction industry (optional)
  • Be able to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilities (optional)
  • Be able to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and other stakeholders
  • Be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance
  • Be able to work overtime, after hours, on weekends, for emergencies, or on-call
  • Be able to maintain a safe work environment
  • Be able to work in all weather conditions
