Job Title: Traveling Construction Laborer

At Robinson Construction, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Traveling Construction Laborer to join our team. As a Traveling Construction Laborer, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to construction and laboring, including erecting and dismantling scaffolding, demolishing buildings, and removing projections from concrete.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding to ensure safe access to work areas.
  • Demolish buildings and dismantle forms, setting up pumps and hoses as needed.
  • Remove projections from concrete using mechanized and hand tools and equipment.
  • Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery.
  • Dig trenches using spades and other equipment, ensuring they conform to length and width specifications.
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications and store or pile extra soil/earth in designated areas.
  • Mix, grade, and pour concrete in appropriate quantities into existing frameworks, following provided instructions.
  • Clear work sites by removing debris and hazardous materials to make them ready for construction work.
  • Transport tools and equipment to and from storage areas or delivery trucks before and after each shift.
  • Install and remove barricades to provide assistance in ensuring worksite safety.
  • Clean hand tools on a regular basis and perform preventative and general maintenance on construction equipment and machinery.
  • Ensure the safety of all tools and machinery by keeping them under lock and key and issuing them to authorized personnel only.
  • Assist other craft workers as needed or assigned.
  • Take personal responsibility for fostering a safe workplace by following safety policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Three or more years of Journeyman Laborer related experience preferred.
  • Industrial machine licenses (such as a forklift license) preferred.
  • Current OSHA 10 or MSHA Certification preferred.
  • TWIC card preferred.
Working Conditions:

As a Traveling Construction Laborer, you will be exposed to various working conditions, including:

  • Fumes, dust, or other airborne particles.
  • Loud noises.
  • Moving mechanical parts and vibrating machinery.
  • Extreme outside conditions, including inclement weather, heat, and humidity or cold and wet conditions.
  • Hazardous chemicals or waste.
