Role Summary:
The Technical Training Coordinator is responsible for the development and execution of comprehensive training programs tailored for the Quality Steel plant operations. This role ensures that all team members receive consistent and effective training aligned with established operational standards and continuous improvement methodologies. The Coordinator will utilize a structured Six Step Training process (Training Within Industry, TWI) to facilitate onboarding and enhance team member retention across the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and sustain training documentation for plant operations utilizing standardized training protocols.
- Certify and mentor trainers within the plant operations team, employing the Six Step Training process.
- Establish and update training and cross-training matrices to ensure comprehensive skill coverage.
- Assist in the creation and revision of Standard Work Instructions (SWIs), Job Breakdowns (JB), and Single Point Lessons (SPLs) to support ongoing training initiatives.
- Manage the Technical Training Audit Program to verify adherence to training standards.
- Maintain a database for training documentation to ensure version control and accessibility.
- Contribute to the development of onboarding materials for new employees, ensuring clarity in operational processes and tools.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in designing and implementing technical training programs.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Training Within Industry (TWI) standards is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong self-management and prioritization abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Capability to convey technical information to diverse audiences through various methods.
- Proficient in meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks.
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Educational Requirements:
- An Associate's degree in Manufacturing, Business, Communications, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel to other Quality Steel locations may be necessary.
