As a Senior Refrigeration Engineer at CRB, you will engage in a collaborative environment within a comprehensive Architecture, Engineering, and Construction firm, delivering integrated project solutions. Key Contributions:

You will oversee discipline deliverables and budget management on projects ranging from simple to complex scales. Your role will involve coordination with both internal and external architects and engineers, as well as clients, construction managers, subcontractors, and vendors.

You will handle multiple intricate tasks, set priorities, and guide the work of others throughout project execution. Acting as the mechanical point-of-contact for clients and other disciplines, you will assist in completing detailed project code analyses, preparing bid/permit/construction documents (including specifications and details), and comprehending the technical and design aspects relevant to CRB's market areas. You will create project documentation (calculations, reports, construction drawings, and specifications) for clients, adhering to regulatory and industry standards while ensuring full coordination of system designs from inception to completion.

Additionally, you will have the chance to mentor junior engineers on projects related to refrigeration, HVAC, and plant and clean utilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with clients and external partners, leading design and review meetings.
  • Strategically plan and direct design efforts, managing project budgets from a mechanical design perspective on various projects.
  • Assist in proposal development under the guidance of a lead engineer or project manager.
  • Identify non-compliant existing conditions during site assessments and construction surveys.
  • Develop conceptual and foundational design reports, performing preliminary equipment sizing and selection.
  • Create comprehensive construction drawing packages and write detailed construction specifications.
  • Participate in quality assurance functions to enhance overall project quality.
  • Support construction activities by reviewing RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.
  • Occasionally travel to client locations to aid in design development and provide construction support.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Over 10 years of experience, ideally in a design firm environment.
  • Professional Registration (Licensure) is required.
  • Extensive experience in engineering calculations and the design and implementation of refrigeration, HVAC, mechanical utility, and piping systems is essential.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical codes and applicable building regulations is required.
  • Proficient in conducting field surveys of existing conditions and supporting field reporting.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required.
  • Advanced skills in coordinating across internal and external project teams, construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers are necessary.
  • Intermediate experience in troubleshooting mechanical system issues is required.
  • LEED, WELL, or other sustainable design accreditation is a plus.
