Key Contributions:

You will oversee discipline deliverables and budget management on projects ranging from simple to complex. Your role will involve coordination with both internal and external architects and engineers, as well as clients, construction managers, subcontractors, and vendors.

You will manage multiple intricate tasks, set priorities, and guide the work of others on various projects. Acting as the mechanical point-of-contact for clients and other disciplines, you will assist in complex project code analysis, prepare bid/permit/construction deliverables (including detailed specifications), and grasp the technical and design aspects relevant to CRB's market areas. You will create project documentation (calculations, reports, construction drawings, and specifications) for clients in accordance with regulatory and industry standards, ensuring full coordination of system designs from conception through to completion.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers on projects related to refrigeration, HVAC, and plant and clean utilities.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Engaging with clients and external partners while leading design and review meetings.
  • Planning and directing design efforts, managing project budgets from a mechanical design perspective on various projects.
  • Supporting proposal development under the guidance of a lead engineer or project manager.
  • Identifying basic non-compliant existing conditions during site assessments and construction surveys.
  • Developing concept and basis of design reports, including preliminary equipment sizing and selection.
  • Creating construction drawing packages and drafting construction specifications.
  • Participating in quality review processes to enhance overall project quality.
  • Assisting construction efforts by reviewing RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.
  • Occasionally traveling to client sites to support design development and provide construction assistance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Over 10 years of experience, ideally in a design firm environment.
  • Professional Registration (Licensure) is necessary.
  • Advanced expertise in engineering calculations and the development and implementation of refrigeration, HVAC, mechanical utility, and piping systems designs is required.
  • Proficient understanding of mechanical codes and applicable building regulations is essential.
  • Extensive experience in conducting and leading field surveys of existing conditions and supporting field reporting is required.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is mandatory.
  • Advanced coordination skills across internal and external project teams, construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers are required.
  • Intermediate experience in troubleshooting mechanical system issues is necessary.
  • LEED, WELL, or other sustainable design accreditation is a plus.
