This role encompasses key responsibilities related to the transportation and procurement of crude oil, serving as the primary purchaser at designated tank facilities. The technician will assess the quality and quantity of crude oil, ensuring proper monitoring and control of flow within our gathering systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesEssential duties include:
- Executing custody transfer operations in line with established protocols for crude oil and related products.
- Generating run tickets that document measurements, quality, and pricing for crude oil purchases.
- Acting as a liaison with producer representatives in the field.
- Conducting regular inspections and calibrations of equipment as necessary.
- Managing batch changes to maintain the integrity of product segregation.
- Performing maintenance tasks on various facilities as required.
- Collecting measurements and samples at terminals or pumping stations.
- Representing the company during meter proving operations.
- Responding to requests for locating underground facilities and overseeing completion inspections.
- Engaging with government representatives during custody transfers.
- Providing technical guidance to less experienced staff.
- Monitoring one-call systems and coordinating necessary dispatches.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience in the oil and gas sector, military fuel management, or natural gas pipeline operations.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- Advanced mathematical and measurement capabilities.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and mechanical systems.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
This position is field-based, requiring approximately 60% travel. The technician will work outdoors in various weather conditions and may be required to work shifts, including 24-hour on-call availability. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, and operating company vehicles.
