Job Summary

The Staff Nurse Resource Pool II provides high-quality nursing care to patients in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct nursing care with a focus on family-centered care for individuals or groups of patients within the assigned scope of practice.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients served, regardless of age and developmental status.
  • Perform leadership and professional duties, including precepting new employees and acting as a mentor to clinical staff.
  • Participate in the development and education of staff members for clinically related issues.
  • Support the provider staff and actively promote collaboration for efficient operation and quality care, and legendary customer service for pediatric patients using a team approach.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support training from the American Heart Association is required. Additional certifications may be required based on the assigned department or unit.
  • Active licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience is required.
Work Environment

This role is an onsite position at Akron Children's Hospital.
