Role Overview: Parts Counterperson / Body Shop Parts Liaison
Become an integral part of a collaborative team that functions like a family. Gordon Chevrolet has been recognized as one of the premier dealerships in the Metropolitan Detroit area by the Detroit Free Press.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in daily meetings with the Body Shop team to provide updates on parts orders.
  • Efficiently order and secure necessary parts for the body shop.
  • Receive and check in parts deliveries.
  • Assist both retail and shop customers in selecting the appropriate parts with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Inform customers about related part requirements and promotions, ensuring they are aware of the complete product range.
  • Review body shop estimates to confirm accuracy of ordered parts and pricing.
  • Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
  • Retrieve and fulfill orders from inventory and deliver them to Auto Body technicians.
  • Alert the parts manager regarding out-of-stock items or urgent shop materials.
  • Source out-of-stock parts from external suppliers and place emergency orders when necessary.
  • Notify the body shop estimator or manager upon receipt of special ordered parts.
  • Communicate with the body shop about the arrival of all parts and their delivery schedule.
  • Follow up on any back-ordered parts.
  • Ensure all internal parts requests are accurately billed on service repair orders.
  • Maintain organized records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special orders.
  • Uphold a professional appearance at all times.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Experience with Collision Link or Parts Trader platforms.
  • Ability to interpret estimates effectively.
