Key Responsibilities
  • Lead group fitness classes, including land and water-based exercises, to promote physical fitness and well-being.
  • Develop and implement engaging and challenging workout routines that cater to diverse fitness levels and interests.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to members, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with other fitness professionals to plan and implement new programs and services that meet the needs of our members.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest fitness trends and best practices, incorporating new ideas and techniques into your classes.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, adhering to YMCA safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in exercise science, fitness, or related field preferred.
  • At least 18 years of age; must be able to pass a background check and provide proof of eligibility to work in the US.
  • Group exercise certification (e.g., ACE, AFAA) and CPR/AED certification required; specialized certifications (e.g., Pilates, cycling) a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods; must be able to move quickly and safely in a fast-paced environment.
