Job Description

Are you seeking a new opportunity where you can be part of a small team and grow with a dynamic company like Ultimate Staffing Services? Our client is seeking a strong administrative assistant who would be interested in growing into an underwriting position in the future.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be organized, motivated, persistent, and helpful. You will be expected to place insurance coverages with various carriers, including authorities. Your primary responsibilities will be to coordinate with agents and carriers to get insured's risk covered suitably.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Train with experienced underwriters to develop your skills and knowledge.
  • Educate agents on coverage options and provide guidance on the best course of action.
  • Prioritize, review, and manage requests for quotes to ensure timely and accurate responses.
  • Manage communication with agents and carriers to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Work closely with agents to complete and compile necessary information for policy submissions.
  • Manage quotes and explain them to agents in a clear and concise manner.
  • Prioritize workload of new and renewal policies to ensure timely processing.
  • Submit risks to carriers and work with them to find coverage for the insured.
Requirements:
  • Great communication and follow-through skills to ensure effective collaboration with agents and carriers.
  • Commitment to continually improving your skills and knowledge to stay up-to-date with industry developments.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with colleagues and external partners.
  • Drive to grow accounts and develop new business opportunities.
  • A college degree in a relevant field, such as business or finance.
  • Ability to read and understand new subjects and concepts quickly.
  • Proficient communication skills to explain and request necessary information from partners.
  • Courteous, ethical business manners and strong relationship skills to build trust with clients and partners.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Organization and multi-tasking skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

You should be able to review submissions and work with agents after one month, manage submissions and quotes after three months, and independently place coverage for insured with carriers after four months.

Compensation: $40k - $45k per year

Work Schedule: 8AM - 5PM, Monday - Friday
