About the Position: Taylor Visual Impressions, a division of Taylor Corporation, is actively seeking a Cost Estimator Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing quotes across various product lines while ensuring a balance between profitability and order acquisition.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Process quote requests from sales teams and customer service for various job categories.
  • Prepare and review responses for RFPs and significant opportunities by compiling production costs based on specifications.
  • Understand the pricing structure, including material costs, spoilage, and preparation.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Sales Management, Business Development Managers, Sales Representatives, and vendors.
  • Collaborate with different teams to understand customer requirements.
  • Research products to enhance product knowledge and secure optimal vendor pricing.
  • Identify necessary resources based on project estimates and budget limitations.
  • Estimate job costs and apply appropriate markups by product category.
  • Maintain the estimating system, manage quotes, and update supplier information.
  • Source quotes from suppliers using the database/library.
  • Engage with suppliers to understand their production capabilities and explore new products.
  • Analyze and negotiate vendor pricing.
  • Provide alternative item quotes as needed to meet requirements and secure orders.
  • Plan cost-effective workflows through the production plant and with external vendors.
  • Proactively communicate quote status to Sales Representatives or Account Managers.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes and cost efficiencies.
  • Translate estimates into actionable plans with detailed layouts for production teams.

Your Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday from 8 am - 5 pm

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, with 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination.
  • Strong negotiation skills and understanding of press capabilities and printing processes.
  • Basic knowledge of print processes and paper types.
  • Familiarity with computerized estimating systems.
  • Understanding of page layouts and press configurations.
  • Excellent mathematical skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry.
  • A college degree and advanced negotiation skills are preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
