Surgical Technologist Specialist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Operative Preparation: Assist in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures, including setting up equipment, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring a clean and safe environment.
- Surgical Assistance: Provide technical support to surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures, including passing instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team.
- Post-Operative Care: Assist in the recovery of patients after surgical procedures, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and providing emotional support.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all equipment is in good working order, including sterilizing and maintaining surgical instruments, and reporting any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, to ensure seamless coordination of care.
- Education: Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and basic computer proficiency.
