Key Responsibilities- Interpret and apply laws, policies, and regulations related to human services program areas.
- Monitor, coordinate, and administer specific programs as assigned.
- Coordinate services within specific areas of responsibility.
- Interview and assess customer needs, and develop and implement individualized service plans.
- Provide case management services to monitor compliance and ensure the delivery of appropriate services to clients.
- Manage program waiting lists and track expenditures.
- Prepare and submit budget estimates and ensure payment for services.
- Complete necessary federal, state, and local planning and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with other agencies and participate in multi-disciplinary and interagency teams providing services to customers.
- Conduct overall monitoring of programs in specific areas of responsibility.
- Serve as a resource to clients and the community in areas of expertise.
- Provide after-hours on-call coverage and respond to emergencies in child/adult protective services and/or foster care.
- Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field or a related field with a minimum of two years of experience in a Human Services area.
- Working knowledge of social work principles and practices, human behavior and motivational theory, laws, policies, and regulations relating to human services program areas, and social, economic, and health problems.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, interview, assess needs, counsel, and refer clients to other resources as needed.
- Ability to develop and implement service plans, make sound judgments within the framework of existing laws, policies, and regulations, and respond to client emotions to accomplish service objectives.
- Ability to work in the community shelter in the event of a natural disaster or emergency.
- Willingness to work with diverse populations and provide services in a variety of settings.
