About the Role

This is a dynamic opportunity to join LCMC Health as a Mental Health Support Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Milieu Management/Safety: Assist in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment by monitoring compliance with program rules and providing assistance with security and supportive manpower.
  • Group Management: Conduct group sessions with and without a preset agenda and format, actively employing therapeutically acceptable sensitivity and skills in managing inappropriate patient behavior.
  • Documentation: Document significant occurrences, observed behaviors, and other relevant information in patient charts and reports.
  • Communication: Communicate in a courteous and polite manner, responding with appropriate verbal and non-verbal expressions.
  • Patient Observation: Provide constant observation and monitoring of assigned patients to ensure safety and prevention of injury.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Allied Health, or a related field.
  • Preferred 3 years of experience on a psychiatric unit or in another healthcare setting.
  • Certifications: BLS, CPI (recommended during orientation period).
