EngageMED Inc. is seeking a skilled X-Ray Imaging Specialist to join our team. As an X-Ray Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing patients for radiologic procedures, protecting patients, self, and other staff from radiation hazards, and taking X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepares patients for radiologic procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
Protects patients, self, and other staff from radiation hazards, adhering to strict safety protocols and guidelines.
Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety, utilizing radiographic equipment to capture high-quality images for medical diagnosis and treatment.
Positions patients and takes X-rays of specific body parts as requested by physicians, ensuring accurate and precise imaging.
Processes film, checks X-rays for clarity of image, and retakes when necessary to ensure optimal results.
Distributes X-rays to appropriate medical staff, facilitating timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment.
Maintains required records, including patient records, daily log books, and monthly reports, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation.
Performs quantity and quality control checks to ensure the X-ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies.
Complies with safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment for patients and staff.
Requirements:
Associates degree in radiological technology from an accredited X-ray technician program.
One to three years of experience as an X-ray technician, preferably in a medical practice environment.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registration preferred.
Performance Requirements:
Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols, anatomy and physiology necessary for X-ray testing, and radiology equipment safety hazards.
Skill in positioning patients properly, identifying equipment problems, and following infection control and radiological safety procedures.
Ability to lift and position patients, notice detail in drawings, and apply written instructions and standardized work practices.
