PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
The Funding Development Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Grants Management. This role is pivotal in achieving the annual financial objectives set for institutional donors.

Key responsibilities encompass research, relationship building, proposal crafting, and the stewardship of grants, which includes preparing grant reports, tracking grant progress, financial reporting, and fostering relationships with corporate, foundation, faith-based, and affiliated funding sources.

The Funding Development Coordinator is expected to utilize the Raiser's Edge NXT system to manage their portfolio, input donor information (both new and existing), and monitor deadlines for proposals, reports, and donor interactions (meetings, calls, emails).

Responsibilities entail frequent and effective use of both written and verbal communication.

This position necessitates an understanding of the youth, families, and communities served by Lawrence Hall, along with a commitment to learning about trauma-informed methodologies.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Prospect Research:
Conduct research on private and governmental funding opportunities to diversify the agency's funding sources.

Writing and Editing:
Ability to produce and refine compelling written communications for funding opportunities. Additionally, create supplementary documents such as reports, templates, and follow-up materials as needed by internal and external stakeholders.

Time Management:
Effectively manage responsibilities in a timely manner.

JOB DUTIES:
Grant Writing/Fundraising/Portfolio Management

Identifies, researches, develops, and nurtures a dynamic prospect list of corporate, foundation, faith community, and other institutional donors. Conducts background research for agency programs.


Collaborates closely with agency program staff to formulate proposals for new and existing programs and to develop evaluations and other materials required by funders.


Ensures the timely preparation of funding proposals, reports, and accompanying materials for new and current funders, through the creation and oversight of a development action plan that aligns with the agency's annual financial goals.

Engages with donors and funders as necessary for cultivation, stewardship, and grant management; represents the agency at public events.

Works in conjunction with Board trustees and designated staff on fundraising initiatives. Composes letters and grant proposals on behalf of trustees and programs.

Strategizes and executes the agency's solicitations to relevant charitable organizations.

Assists in the research and development of government funding proposals.


Maintains accurate and timely records to ensure effective stewardship and solicitation of agency donors, prospects, and other key relationships.

Manages follow-up actions for proposal submissions, report deadlines, and other grantor requirements.

Participates in the development and implementation of continuous quality improvement activities as assigned.

Collaborates with other department members in all areas when needed, including public speaking engagements and special events.

Maintains an electronic calendar to account for daily activities and provides permissions for viewing to appropriate individuals.

Upholds confidentiality of employees, volunteers, and program participants to foster a safe environment.


Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with program participants and family members, employees, and vendors in a culturally diverse environment to support healing and recovery.

Attends at least two trainings related to trauma-informed practices within a twelve-month period.

QUALIFICATIONS:


Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience and a proven track record in gift development, donor cultivation and stewardship, and donor communications.


Proficiency in Raiser's Edge NXT or other fundraising database experience, as well as Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Highly effective verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.

Ability to plan work to meet required deadlines.

Ability to lift/carry 25 lbs. occasionally.

Valid driver's license.

No history of child abuse or neglect.

Ability to pass background and drug screening.

Understanding of childhood trauma and positive youth development/strength-based approaches.

Prior experience working in settings with youth and families exposed to trauma or experiencing traumatic stress.

This position meets the FLSA requirements for Exempt.
