Position Overview

Are you a dedicated and empathetic individual? Do you have a passion for teaching, caregiving, and empowering others to lead fulfilling lives? Eden Autism Services is seeking both Full-Time and Part-Time Support Specialists to assist adults in our residential and day service programs.

While prior experience with individuals with autism or other disabilities is beneficial, it is not mandatory. We offer comprehensive paid training and emphasize teamwork in our approach. Eden provides a variety of flexible schedules to accommodate the diverse needs of our employees.

Our day service centers operate on a Monday to Friday schedule from 8 AM to 4 PM.

  • Residential services include various Full-Time and Part-Time options, such as Weekend Day shifts, Awake Overnight shifts, and rotating schedules.

As a Support Specialist at Eden, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals at all times.
  • Teaching essential life skills, including cooking, laundry, personal hygiene, and more. You may also assist with employment skills and provide support at work sites.
  • Facilitating daily activities such as shopping, recreational outings, and medical appointments.
  • Transporting participants to and from our facilities and within the community.
  • Monitoring the progress of individuals as they acquire new skills and reporting relevant information to supervisors.
  • Maintaining communication with family members, colleagues, and supervisors, and completing necessary documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record (5 points or less) and a minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including:
  1. Lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs.
  2. Engaging in various physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
  3. Successfully completing and maintaining Professional Crisis Management (PCM) certification.
  4. Responding quickly to ensure the safety of participants.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.Comfortable using an Apple iPad for data collection.
