Position Summary
We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Lead Support Specialist to deliver essential life skills training and behavioral support programs to participants in their homes and community settings, addressing their unique therapeutic requirements. This role involves a rotation schedule of three days on and three days off, including overnight shifts and weekends. The compensation for this position is $21.25 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision
- Oversee the shift activities of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and substitutes; assist in the completion of Teacher Quality Assessments (TQAs) and performance evaluations.
- Facilitate and support the training of residential staff.
Instruction and Behavioral Support
- Contribute to the creation and execution of Individual Habilitation Plans (IHPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) for assigned participants; provide troubleshooting as necessary.
- Ensure accurate data collection on all instructional and behavioral support initiatives and review for progress.
Documentation and Administrative Duties
- Implement the residential schedule to guarantee sufficient staff coverage for all shifts.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly reports related to behavioral, clinical, financial, and medical documentation as required.
- Maintain and update participant data through the Therap system concerning individual performance on teaching and behavioral support programs.
- Help manage participant files, including medical and dental records, IHPs, etc.
- Assist in scheduling medical and dental appointments, including follow-ups; provide coverage as needed.
- Support monitoring of residential and participant budget-related activities.
- Assist in the completion and submission of weekly time and attendance records and time-off requests.
- Ensure compliance with all necessary purchasing, requisition, and accounting procedures.
- Participate in monthly medication check-ins with the Health and Social Services Coordinator as required.
Facility Maintenance
- Perform light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, and simple furniture repairs.
- Ensure safe living conditions by performing tasks like snow removal and maintaining a tidy environment.
- Assist with basic pool maintenance under the guidance of the Facilities department staff, if applicable.
- Report any maintenance needs to the Facilities department.
Communication and Collaboration
- Maintain professional and proactive communication with parents and colleagues.
- Engage in regularly scheduled meetings with the residential supervisor and house staff, as well as participant staffing as necessary.
- Promptly inform the Supervisor or Coordinator of any issues that may jeopardize the safe and effective operation of Residential Services.
- Collaborate with Eden Autism Services and Department of Human Services staff during inspections or investigations.
- Represent Eden in a professional manner at all times when interacting with participants in the community.

Qualifications
Education: A high school diploma or GED is required; an Associate's degree in Social Services or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of two (2) years of direct care experience, preferably with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- At least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
- Fee for Service/Therap certification is advantageous.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, kneel, stretch, stoop, and/or reach above shoulder level for extended periods.
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Capability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to pass and maintain Professional Crisis Management (PCM) certification at a P2 level annually, including the implementation of all strategies and techniques.
- Ability to move quickly to ensure the safety of participants at all times.
Specialized Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrated knowledge of applied behavioral analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
- Commitment to providing exceptional customer service consistently.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to effectively interact with individuals and groups to achieve desired outcomes.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to implement physical techniques, including personal control, crisis intervention, and restrictive procedures as trained; may be required to provide physical assistance and/or prompting to an individual.
- Beginner to intermediate proficiency in MS Office, including Word and Excel.
