Job Overview

The Army National Guard offers a unique opportunity for individuals to develop their technical skills and pursue a career in engineering. As a Technical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in planning and executing construction projects, from developing plans and specifications to conducting site surveys and testing materials.

Salary Estimate

Military enlistees in this role can expect to earn between $200 and $250 per drill weekend, subject to change. Additionally, they may be eligible for federal and state tuition assistance, the Montgomery GI Bill, and other benefits.

About the Role

As a Technical Engineer with the Army National Guard, your responsibilities will include:
  • Drawing topographic maps and charts using Computer Aided Drafting systems and software
  • Conducting geodetic and construction surveys and results utilizing Automated Integrated Survey Instruments and Global Positioning Survey Technology
  • Providing technical support for vertical and horizontal construction projects

Requirements

To qualify for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
  • Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
  • Be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
  • Be between the ages of 17 and 35
  • Pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
