Shelby Baptist Medical Center, located in Alabaster, is a 252-bed facility that provides care to over 51,000 patients annually in its emergency department. The center is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including a 3 Tesla MRI, a robotic surgery program, and a comprehensive cardiology suite. We offer a wide array of services to address the diverse needs of our patients, ensuring prompt and effective responses for those experiencing chest pain or stroke symptoms. Our services encompass cardiology, specialized surgical services, orthopedics with rehabilitation, and psychiatric care.
Position Summary:
Under the guidance of a registered nurse, the Cardiovascular Cath Lab Technician is responsible for performing advanced hemodynamic monitoring procedures and assisting physicians during various interventions. This role involves working with patients across a broad age spectrum, from adolescents to seniors. Additionally, the technician will provide training to Cardiovascular Technicians and other personnel within the Cath Lab. The technician is expected to complete all established competencies during the designated introductory period and undertake other related responsibilities as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor cardiac procedures and accurately calculate hemodynamic data.
- Assist nursing staff with emergency interventions.
- Ensure the maintenance and quality control of all equipment.
- Clean and prepare instruments and supplies for sterilization.
- Assume the role of monitor technician as required.
Qualifications:
Required: Graduate of an accredited Radiology or Cardiology Technology program or equivalent educational background.
Preferred: A minimum of 2 years of experience in an Interventional Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology setting.
Certifications:
Required: ARRT, RCIS, or RCES; BLS and ACLS certifications must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
