Facility Overview:
Shelby Baptist Medical Center, located in Alabaster, is a well-equipped facility with 252 beds, serving over 51,000 patients annually in the emergency department. The center boasts advanced technological resources, including a 3 Tesla MRI, a robotic surgery program, and a cutting-edge cardiology suite. We provide a comprehensive range of services to address the diverse needs of our patients, ensuring rapid, life-saving responses for those experiencing chest pain or stroke symptoms. Our offerings include specialized cardiology surgical services, orthopedic care, rehabilitation, and psychiatric services.
Position Summary:
Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, the Cardiovascular Cath Lab Technician performs intricate hemodynamic monitoring procedures and assists physicians during various procedures. This role involves working with patients across all age groups, from adolescents to seniors. Additionally, the technician is responsible for training Cardiovascular Technicians and other personnel within the Cath Lab. The technician must complete established competencies for the role within the designated introductory period and undertake other related responsibilities as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor cardiac procedures and calculate hemodynamic data.
- Assist nursing staff with emergency interventions.
- Maintain and ensure quality control of equipment.
- Clean and prepare instruments and supplies for sterilization.
- Assume the role of monitor technician as required.
Qualifications:
Required: Graduate of an accredited Radiology or Cardiology Technology program or equivalent education.
Preferred: A minimum of 2 years of experience in Interventional Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology.
Certifications:
Required: ARRT, RCIS, or RCES; BLS and ACLS certifications must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
