As a Permit Technician at Renewal By Andersen, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our building permit process. The Permitting Assistant is part of a team responsible for recording NOCs, completing permit paperwork, applying for permits, and scheduling inspections within set time frames.
Key Responsibilities
- Input new incoming permits into the tracking system, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
- Verify that NOCs and paperwork are completed and signed by contractors/owners, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Apply for permits with each city/municipality we serve, adhering to their specific requirements and deadlines.
- Prepare permit packets with required paperwork for production, ensuring all necessary documents are included.
- Schedule and coordinate inspection requests, communicating inspection results to stakeholders.
- Ensure that all projects have permits ready for their installation date, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Travel to permitting offices of different municipalities to deliver/pick up required paperwork, utilizing a company-provided vehicle.
- Collaborate with the permitting department to identify areas for process improvement, enhancing our permit acquisition efficiency.
- Develop a deep understanding of building permit offices and their nuances, adapting to changing regulations and requirements.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent, with a strong emphasis on attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet software, with experience in data entry and record-keeping.
- 2 years of previous permit experience, with a focus on building permits and regulatory compliance.
- Typing speed of at least 45 WPM, with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Clean driving record for the past 3 years, with a reliable vehicle for business use.
- Current Notary Public certification or willingness to obtain, with a strong understanding of notarization procedures.
