Job Title: Permitting and Licensing Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Permitting and Licensing Specialist to join our team at SafeTouch Security. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and a strong ability to coordinate with governmental agencies and internal teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research and understand permitting requirements for electrical, security, fire, access control, and CCTV systems across different counties and local municipalities
  • Prepare and submit permit applications, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete
  • Track the status of permit applications and follow up with relevant authorities to expedite the approval process
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of permits, licenses, and renewal dates
  • Ensure timely renewal of all necessary licenses and permits to prevent lapses in compliance
  • Liaise with local governmental agencies to stay informed about changes in regulations and requirements
  • Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and other internal stakeholders to gather necessary information for permit applications and inspection scheduling with local municipalities
  • Provide regular updates to management on the status of permits and licenses
  • Develop and implement processes to streamline permit and licensing activities
  • Assist with compliance audits and ensure all documentation is readily available for inspection

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a permitting or licensing role, preferably within the security, fire, or construction industry
  • Proficiency in using permit tracking software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with Florida permitting and licensing processes preferred
  • Experience working with local government agencies and building departments preferred
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory standards in the security and fire protection industries preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to various municipalities as needed

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift 15 pounds occasionally. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt

Work Location: Jacksonville

Reports to: COO

Travel: 10%
