Human Resources Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our team at the City of Fairfield. As a key member of our HR department, you will provide administrative and technical support to ensure the smooth operation of our human resources function.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service to employees, addressing their queries and concerns related to HR matters.
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and coordinating with hiring managers.
- Maintain and enhance employee benefits programs, working directly with brokers, third-party administrators, and carriers.
- Work with employees and Workers' Compensation TPA to ensure timely filing of medical reports and forms.
- Maintain HRIS and employee records, process personnel actions, and status changes.
- Process invoices, check requisitions, and purchase orders for the HR Office.
- Associate's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
- Minimum three years of Human Resources experience.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with an ethical mindset.
- Experience with HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
- Public Sector and Civil Service experience.
- Experience working with and interpreting union contracts.
- Ability to pivot and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Team player with ability to work independently.

All full-time employees participate in state retirement pension systems, including OPERS or OP&F, depending on their job classification.
