Job Summary:
Catering staff schedules are coordinated to ensure timely delivery, serving, and clearing of functions. Food preparation and serving occur under the supervision of the Catering Director. May involve driving a truck to deliver food and beverages to catered events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine workload requirements from catering orders.
- Meet with function group leaders to discuss setup arrangements and address last-minute changes.
- Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a service-oriented manner.
- Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items.
- Instruct staff on work expectations for catered events.
- Help staff set up rooms to desired specifications.
- Assemble and deliver food and supplies to scheduled locations.
- Serve food and beverages to guests.
- Return food, beverages, serving equipment, and utensils to the catering facility.
- Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures, following HACCP standards.
- Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils.
- Ensure proper food preparation by following approved recipes and production standards.
Requirements:
- A valid driver's license may be required.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid food handler's permit and/or alcohol servers permit where required by state law.
