Job Summary

The Unit Secretary plays a vital role in the smooth operation of our pediatric psychiatric unit, providing administrative support to our nursing staff and ensuring the efficient flow of patient information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, both paper and electronic
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and phone calls
  • Coordinate patient calls and visitor sign-in
  • Order and inventory hospital supplies
  • Perform photocopying and other administrative tasks as needed
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or certificate in medical secretary training
  • 1 year of clerical experience in a medical setting
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in electronic record keeping
