Medical Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist/ Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at K.A. Recruiting. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tests and procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Key Responsibilities- Aid phlebotomists in the collection of specimens and ensure accurate identification throughout testing and reporting procedures.
- Perform tests ordered by physicians or contract with companies, and process and verify the quality and appropriateness of samples.
- Assure correlation and verification of results, including stats, timed specimens, drug levels, and panic values, and document calls to units or physicians as required.
- Process all specimens for delayed testing or referral to external labs, and perform daily quality control for each test performed according to policy and procedure.
- Assist with secretarial duties as needed, and ensure phones are answered timely and customer-friendly.
- Timely report outpatient results to physicians and medical records.
- BA/BS or AA/AS in laboratory sciences or training from an approved school of lab sciences.
- MT or MLT certification by ASCP, AMT, HEW or NCA and a WV State Licensure.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
