POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a knowledgeable Tax and Compliance Accountant to undertake various responsibilities related to indirect taxation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct thorough research on tax matters and interpret regulations across various jurisdictions to assess their relevance to our organization.
- Assist in the preparation of annual reports and other compliance documents for new tax jurisdictions as necessary.
- Reconcile balances in the general ledger for tax-related accounts and prepare a range of tax returns and annual reports.
- Support the review of annual federal and state income tax returns to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Facilitate financial and tax audits by compiling accurate documentation as required.
- Utilize analytical skills to investigate and generate special reports as requested by management.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in tax and technology to enhance data integrity and operational efficiencies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental processes by evaluating, recommending, and implementing enhanced methods.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, accompanied by 3 to 7 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- CPA certification is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical capabilities with a solid understanding of current tax legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a diverse environment.
- Self-motivated individual with a keen eye for detail, demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness in work.
- Proficient in various software platforms, including Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite, and ERP systems, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
