Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our Orthopedic Clinical Resource team at Salem Hospital. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room environment, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure that all patients receive high-quality care and that all surgical procedures are conducted safely and efficiently.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to surgical services, ensuring that they are aligned with hospital and regulatory standards.
  • Provide education and training to staff members on surgical procedures and techniques, as well as on the use of equipment and supplies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them.
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in an operating room setting as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Successful completion of an accredited educational program for surgical technologists and certification as a surgical technologist accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies and the American College of Surgeons and the Association of Surgical Technologists.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize tasks and responsibilities to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
