Job Title: Medical Biller Specialist

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Biller Specialist to join our team at HealthyU Family Medicine. As a Medical Biller Specialist, you will be responsible for processing claims, identifying and resolving claims issues, and ensuring accurate revenue is booked.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Properly code services, procedures, diagnoses, and treatments
  • Prepare and send invoices or claims for payment or reimbursement
  • Correct rejected claims and ensure accuracy
  • Track payments
  • Follow up with patients and insurance companies about outstanding invoices
  • Ensure accuracy in medical coding and claim generation
  • Follow up on completed claims, EOBs, and verify posting of claims
  • Address claims placed in various hold categories by Athena staff

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of Athena medical billing experience with CPT and ICD-9/10
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and billing procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with ability to work independently and prioritize workload
  • Efficient and accurate charge entry and coding
  • Effective organization and multitasking skills
  • Microsoft Office experience, including Excel
  • Possess a thorough understanding of billing codes, AHCCCS, and experience working with insurance claims representatives
  • Knowledgeable in AHCCCS, Medicaid, CMS guidelines, and coding policies
  • Understanding of current coding and billing regulations and compliance requirements
  • Computer skills in EMR and MS Office
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coding certificate
  • Bachelor's degree

Work Environment:

  • Typical office environment
  • Routine use of standard office equipment
