About the Opportunity

Mills College at Northeastern University, Education and Humanities Unit, invites applications for a Non-Tenure Track position of a Full Teaching Professor of Educational Leadership at our Oakland, CA campus, starting in the Fall semester 2024. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position.

Job Summary

The Department of Education at Mills College at Northeastern University seeks a qualified candidate to teach graduate courses in the MA in Educational Leadership program, including courses designed to meet the requirements for an Administrative Services Credential. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to and experience in teaching at the graduate level and in public education.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Serve as instructor for six courses in the MA in Educational Leadership program, with special focus in courses required for an Administrative Service Credential, a graduate degree-completion program.
  • Develop and implement course learning outcomes, curriculum maps, resource guides, textbooks, syllabi templates, and updated course materials; includes region specific coursework as desired.
  • Work with the Department Chair to ensure regional programs meet license/accreditation requirements and participate in comprehensive regional evaluations and periodic reviews.
  • In collaboration with the Department Chair, create modularity guidelines and recommendations for program content integration across programs.
  • Participate in program and faculty committee meetings as applicable.
  • Serve on committees that support the mission of the program and the vision of the College and wider University.
Requirements
  • Qualified candidates should be committed to fostering diverse and inclusive environments as well as to promoting experiential learning, both are values central to Northeastern University.
  • Candidates must have a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Education or related field by the appointment start date. At least one year of teaching experience as an instructor in higher education courses is required.
