Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Education Instructor to join our team at Bay Area Community Resources. As a TK/K Program Educator, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of young children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement play-based curriculum that supports kindergarten and first-grade readiness
  • Create a program environment that fosters creativity and excitement
  • Support and maintain the emotional well-being of students
  • Provide a safe and positive classroom environment
  • Write lesson plans, using learning targets and instructional strategies
  • Act as a positive role model for struggling students
  • Actively supervise and ensure the safety of all children at all times
  • Engage students in lesson plans that support school-day learning
  • Run community circles based on restorative practices
  • Collaborate with youth to support their learning and development (youth-driven curriculum)

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree or higher, or 48 or more college units, or High School Diploma or GED and pass Instructional Aide exam
  • Pass criminal background check and TB test clearance
  • Desire to work with young children
  • Ability to reliably commute to Oakland
  • Commitment to education equity and leadership
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to practice open, clear, and consistent communication and commitment to participate in professional development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • TK/K early childhood experience required, 6-12 ECE Units
  • Commitment to a full school year
