Position Overview
The Ridgeview Institute Smyrna is currently in search of a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to provide outpatient services in a supportive environment.

Role Responsibilities

Key Duties:
The Outpatient Family Therapist is responsible for delivering social services aimed at assisting patients in addressing their bio-psychosocial needs. This includes facilitating access to therapeutic treatment strategies to enhance emotional well-being. Responsibilities encompass:

  • Conducting educational, therapeutic, and support groups.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development in individual, family, and group therapy.
  • Providing individual, couples, and family counseling as per scheduled appointments.
  • Adhering to medical/legal reporting standards, including cases of abuse and psychiatric commitments.
  • Representing the facility at legal hearings when necessary.
  • Assessing psychosocial, educational, developmental, and behavioral functioning of patients and their families.
  • Applying knowledge of bio-psychosocial factors and DSM-IV in treatment planning.
  • Overseeing the implementation of nursing care plans and ensuring quality through direct observation.

Qualifications
Education: A Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related mental health field from an accredited institution is preferred.
Experience: At least two years of experience in a psychiatric healthcare setting, with a focus on family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and strong clinical assessment skills.

Additional Requirements: CPR/First Aid and CPI Training are required. Flexibility in work hours may be necessary.
