Ridgeview Institute Smyrna is currently seeking a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for an outpatient role.

Position Overview

The Outpatient Family Therapist is responsible for delivering essential social services, focusing on assisting patients in addressing their bio-psychosocial needs. This role involves facilitating access to therapeutic interventions aimed at achieving optimal emotional health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct educational, therapeutic, and support groups.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development in individual, family, and group therapy.
  • Provide individual, couples, and family counseling as per scheduled appointments.
  • Adhere to medical/legal reporting standards, including situations of child and dependent adult abuse.
  • Represent the facility at legal hearings and manage paperwork for legal holds.
  • Assess and identify psychosocial, educational, developmental, and behavioral functioning of patients and their families.
  • Utilize knowledge of bio-psychosocial factors and DSM-IV in treatment planning.
  • Oversee the implementation of nursing care plans and verify care through direct observation.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related mental health field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years in a psychiatric healthcare setting, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and strong clinical assessment skills.
  • Additional Requirements: CPR/First Aid and CPI Training; flexibility in work hours may be required.
