Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic

The City of Dover is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of heavy equipment and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, grease and lubrication, and tire changes.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with heavy equipment and vehicles.
  • Use computerized diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Weld and modify equipment as needed.
  • Install and replace snowplowing and sanding equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years experience in the repair of heavy duty gas and diesel engines/heavy equipment.
  • Extensive training in welding, electrical and fuel systems.
  • Valid CDL-B with air brake endorsement.
  • ASE certification and NH Vehicle Inspection license.
Working Conditions:

This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position offering a full-time benefits package. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and may be required to work in occasionally adverse and varying weather and climatic conditions.
