Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are seeking an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Phoenix Children's Hospital. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of pediatrics experience and preferred neurology experience. The APP will be responsible for providing excellent clinical care for patients in the inpatient critical and non-critical care settings. The position will work in collaboration with attending physicians and will have responsibilities in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive health history, physical assessments, and plans for infants, children, and young adults with acute and chronic health conditions.
- Order and prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions and perform other therapeutic or corrective measures to treat illness and improve health status.
- Formulate family-centered plans of care and perform daily documentation as necessary.
- Collaborate and coordinate care with other team members.
- Collect data and analyze when necessary.
- Perform advanced procedures associated with their credentialing process.
- Utilize the most up-to-date and evidence-based practice for plans of care and alter the plan according to family needs and effectiveness.
- Serve as an educational resource to patient/family/nursing staff/provider team and other healthcare teams as needed.
- Participate in own professional development by maintaining required competences, certifying body renewals, seeking educational offerings when available, and participating in the professional development of others.
- Demonstrate commitment to patient safety by bringing up concerns in an appropriate manner, reporting through appropriate channels, and ensuring change of practice when necessary.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of pediatrics experience and preferred neurology experience. The candidate must be certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and have a strong understanding of pediatric neurology. The candidate must also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
