SNC Ltd is seeking a highly skilled FPGA Firmware Engineer to join our team of experts in Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST). As a key member of our team, you will conceptualize and design new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle, from analog and digital electronic circuit card assemblies to fully integrated systems.

The MST business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. Our team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop firmware for FPGA-based systems
  • Develop and maintain high-level design documentation and specifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate firmware with hardware and software components
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of firmware to ensure compliance with requirements
  • Participate in the development of new technologies and processes to improve product quality and efficiency

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
  • 6 or more years of Electrical, Computer, or Firmware Engineering Experience
  • Understanding of inaugurated development environments and digital circuit concepts
  • Experience with simulation and analysis, FPGA HDL development, VHDL, and Verilog

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
  • Exposure to simulations through functional and logical models and system analysis
  • Experience composing and analyzing Electrical Load Analysis (ELA), circuit modeling, simulation, and analysis
  • Familiarity with Electro Magnetic Effects (EME), Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC), Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI), and design requirements related to High Intensity Radiated Field (HIRF) including Indirect Effects of Lightning (IEL)
  • Knowledge of model-based definition, electrical component selection, manufacturing, and production processes
  • Previous experience in digital or analog circuit design, schematic capture, source code management systems, Linux Operating System, and shell script development
  • Understanding of the printed circuit board layout process and tools

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
