Position Overview

The Senior Human Resources Generalist plays a crucial role in delivering a wide array of HR and Payroll support, ensuring adherence to policies, processes, and programs across various domains such as employee records, employee relations, HR compliance, payroll management, and benefits administration.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources:
  • Support the Director of Human Resources in daily HR operations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic HR files and documentation.
  • Address employment-related inquiries from staff and management, escalating complex issues as necessary.
  • Execute routine HR tasks, including benefits administration, employee relations, investigations, health & safety, and compliance training.
  • Assist with Open Enrollment, Year-End processing, and special HR initiatives.
  • Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; review policies to maintain compliance.
  • Stay informed about trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and advancements in HR and employment law.
Payroll:
  • Assist with timekeeping and payroll processing; serve as backup for the Payroll Specialist.
  • Review and audit payroll processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support the payroll year-end process.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Three to five years of experience in an HR Generalist role, focusing on payroll administration, HR compliance, and employee relations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or HRCI-PHR certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Understanding of federal and state employment laws and their application to HR policies.
  • Familiarity with FLSA, payroll processing, and payroll taxes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with HR and payroll software.
  • Strong skills in employee relations and investigations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written communication skills tailored to the audience.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Capability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Physical Demands
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for computer tasks.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
