Job Title: Project Administrator

Join the City of Gastonia, NC team as a Project Administrator, responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, and contract administration of professional services and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assure adherence to the City's Standard Operating Procedures for Expenditure Contracts and compliance with procurement policies.
  • Monitor contract administration, including professional services, materials, and equipment, and contracted construction.
  • Review, verify, and make recommendations on professional service and construction contracts.
  • Prepare contracts for advertisement bidding and review contract estimates for payment.
  • Tabulate contract bids, payments, and related matters.
  • Assist the Director in resolving contract-related problems and coordinate contracts with the City's Attorneys.
  • Assist in grant applications and files periodic grant reports and payment requests.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Business Management, or Construction Management.
  • Considerable experience in project management and contract administration of construction projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of contract administration procedures, project and construction management principles, and accounting principles.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate ideas effectively, orally and in writing.
