Manufacturing Process Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safe, optimal, and cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement manufacturing processes and methods to meet product specifications and quality standards.
- Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods, and controls.
- Support research, design, and development of safe manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment.
- Consult with stakeholders to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structures or renovations.
- Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of facilities, properties, buildings, and equipment.
- Support and lead the manufacturing launch of new or revised products, including establishing goals, training team members, and evaluating results.
- Design, develop, test, and/or source and cost-justify various tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Prepare capital projects for new equipment and processes.
- Safely launch machines, processes, methods, and/or tooling technologies with high effectiveness.
- Document lessons learned and communicate among the Mfg. Engineering discipline.
- Provide technical process expertise for plant and supplier quality issues.
- Experience managing manufacturing startup projects, including scope development, business case analysis, execution, and closeout.
- Proven track record of successfully completing manufacturing projects on schedule and within budget.
- Ability to think strategically and plan projects over a 6-12 month horizon.
- Experience with existing manufacturing technologies, including welding, joining, metal working, manual assembly, and certification in a field is a plus.
- 5+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment, 4+ years of work experience in a comparable industry.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering desired.
- Experience with factory automation, maintenance, and integrating engineering designs into production is highly desirable.
- Practical Lean principles experience with proven success using the tools.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, AutoCAD, Minitab.
- Proven ability to facilitate change and knowledge of lean tools and techniques.
- Strong leadership experience and strong team player.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Quality orientation and attention to detail.
- Problem analysis and problem resolution; Green Belt certification, Black Belt a plus.
This role requires working in an office environment in a seated position for a minimum of eight hours per day. At times, this job operates in a manufacturing plant environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
