Job Summary

South Central Health System is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented RN Staff Nurse to join our team as a Quality and Infection Control Specialist. This role will be responsible for collaborating with the quality team to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of quality and safety principles, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the quality team to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies
Conduct rounds on inpatient units to monitor isolation, device counts, and maintenance of lines
Assist with employee health activities, including tuberculin skin testing and immunizations
Provide coverage when the employee health nurse is on lunch break or absent from work
Assist with drug test screening as needed
Manage quality projects as assigned

Requirements

Current RN license by the Mississippi Board of Nursing or similar professional degree and licensure or certification
Current NHSN membership
Tuberculosis skin testing certification
BLS certification
Ability to read, write, and understand verbal and written communication

Working Conditions

The incumbent will occasionally climb stairs, stand, lift, squat, bend, kneel, and work with hazardous materials. They will frequently walk, reach, carry, and distinguish colors. They will continuously see, listen, and grasp objects.
