About the Role

Gallagher Bassett is seeking a skilled Insurance Investigator to join our team in the New York City Metropolitan area. As an Insurance Investigator, you will conduct full field investigations related to insurance claims, including scene investigations, signed/recorded statements, and locates for multi-lines of insurance, including construction claims, workers' compensation, general liability, etc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough investigations of insurance claims, including scene investigations and interviews with claimants and witnesses
  • Write detailed technical reports and prepare photographic displays and diagrams
  • Manage case load and work efficiently in the field
  • Track time and expenses
  • Perform and complete internal and external online training as required for the position
Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of claims investigation experience and knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices
  • Valid driver's license and insured, registered, and well-maintained vehicle
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
  • Construction sector claims investigation experience
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Current and valid public notary
  • OSHA 30 hr. Construction Safety Certification
  • Bilingual (fluent Spanish) and/or other languages
